i) HYBRID FREQUENCY
Hybrid Frequency is a solo project from Colombian Yecid Ortega. Experimentation with different sources, mostly natural and organic including Latin-American folk instruments such as “quenas” and “ocarinas” among others to give color and texture to the subtle soundscapes that overlay the noisy walls made by many different tools such as synthesizers, made electronic devices, computer software, effect pedals and field recordings. Sometimes harsh and sometimes drone , ambient or sometimes experimental.

ii) THE KNOT
Nick Storring and Tilman Lewis are errant classical cellists. With allegiance to both form and freedom, we embark on sonic explorations that are rooted in folk traditions, new musics, and an experimental pop sensibility. We love to subvert the instrument's lyricism, drawing not so much on extended techniques as on an array of audacious contra-techniques. A Knot performance ventures into demanding territory. But almost despite ourselves, an elemental beauty shines through.
